Lisa L. Q. Dorrel, J. D. graduated from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis in December 2014. Mrs. Dorrel sat for the Indiana Bar Exam in February 2015 and was admitted to practice in Indiana by the Supreme Court of the State of Indiana on May 2015. At that time she was also admitted to practice in the United States District Court Northern District of Indiana as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. Mrs. Dorrel is a member of the American Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, the Decatur County Bar Association, the Franklin County Bar Association, the Ripley County Bar Association, and the IndyBar Indianapolis Bar Association.


December 10, 2019 Mrs. Dorrel was admitted to the United States Supreme Court Bar.


In 2021 & 2022 Mrs. Dorrel was selected as a Rising Star by SuperLawyers as a Top Rated Estate Planning & Probate Attorney.  The Rising Stars list recognizes no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in each state. To be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger, or in practice for 10 years or less.  Super Lawyers selects attorneys using a patented multiphase selection process. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with independent research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Selections are made on an annual, state-by-state basis.

Mrs. Dorrel was selected as the Teaching Assistant for Professor Ryznar's premier online Trusts & Estates class at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. Mrs. Dorrel was also accepted and actively involved in the Wrongful Conviction Clinic while at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law primarily focusing on a quadruple murder case appeal. She further worked as a Certified Legal Intern for the Marion County Prosecutor's Office, Domestic Violence division.

Mrs. Dorrel received her Bachelor of General Studies Degree with High Distinction in May 2011 and a Paralegal Studies Program Certificate from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis in 1991. In 1995 she successfully completed the Indiana Real Estate Appraisal Courses. In 2002 she successfully completed Indiana Credit Life, Property and Casualty, and Life Insurance Classes and obtained those respective licenses. Mrs. Dorrel obtained an Indiana Real Estate Salesperson's license in 1978, an Indiana Real Estate Broker's License in 1993 and has owned and operated Bailey Park Realty Company in Batesville, Indiana since July 2004. Mrs. Dorrel further completed an Indiana Mortgage Education Course in 2006. She is currently an Indiana Notary Public and has been since 1978.

While attending law school Mrs. Dorrel worked as an Adjunct Instructor for Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis, Indiana teaching Academic Advancement English. Currently, Mrs. Dorrel works as an Adjunct Instructor for Ivy Tech Community College in Batesville, Indiana teaching Criminal Justice, Legal Research, and Paralegal courses. Prior to attending law school she worked as a Banking Center Manager for United Community Bank (formerly known as Integra Bank, N.A.) in Osgood and Milan Indiana; a Settlement Officer for S.E. IN Title, Inc. in Batesville, Indiana; Assistant Vice President of Loans for FCN Bank, N. A. in Batesville, Indiana; Branch Manager for MainSource Bank (formerly known as People's Trust Company) also in Batesville, Indiana; a Residential Loan Originator for National City Bank, Batesville, Indiana; a paralegal for Eaton & Romweber Attorneys in Batesville, Indiana; and a paralegal for eleven (11) years for Gary E. Smith, Attorney-at-Law and Smith, Shaw & Wilhoite of Connersville, Indiana. Mrs. Dorrel was also a Weight Watcher leader in Southeast Indiana for seven (7) years.

Mrs. Dorrel and her husband since 1978, Brian, moved to Batesville, Indiana from Connersville, Indiana in 1990 purchasing the family farm, homesteaded in 1834 by the Dorrel Family. In Batesville, they raised their two sons, Ben Dorrel and Ian Dorrel. Mr. and Mrs. Dorrel have one granddaughter, Scarlett.
